Recently,
the Living Hope teen and middle school classes sat down together
and brainstormed one hundred things they are thankful for.
The list was interesting and varied and didn't take long to
compile.
Fortunately we had a fast writer in the group.
Here is a sampling of that
list:
We are thankful for: ....
Hot water, family, food, friends, school, Jesus' love, flowers, sun,
music, church, thought, step-dad, stars, pets, Bible, oxygen, summer
camp, language, shoes, compassion, mom, sleep, duct tape, heaters,
feet, dad, fire fighters, snow, teachers, hearing aids, indoor
plumbing, and moonlight.
Everyone
agreed that we are blessed. After reading scripture and seeing
that we are instructed to give to others, everyone shared, from their
own experiences, ways to reach out. Below is a list of some
of the things the Living Hope teens and middle schoolers have been
doing to help others:
Served
meals at United Gospel Mission
Penny
collection for children's hospital
Several
different food drives
Money
drive for an individual's medical expenses
Christmas

Meals

Request

Planting

Wrapped

Cleaned

Built

It was a good opportunity to share ideas and learn from each
other. We ended with the instruction in I Corinthians 13:3, to
not only help others, but to love them as well.
